MANILA, Philippines – In a remarkable display of support, thousands of Manila residents, united under the banner of Kaagapay ng Manileño, have rallied to endorse Isko Moreno’s return as mayor of the nation’s capital.
What began as a modest assembly of 120 poll-watching volunteers years ago has now burgeoned into a formidable force of 40,000 dedicated members.

Kaagapay ng Manileño has played a pivotal role in shaping Manila’s political landscape, contributing to the election of 36 councilors, six congressmen, a vice mayor, and a mayor. Their grassroots efforts have been instrumental in mobilizing community support and fostering civic engagement.
Highlighting the overwhelming enthusiasm for Moreno’s leadership, the Ninoy Aquino Stadium was filled to capacity twice in a single day during their recent gathering last February 15, underscoring the public’s desire for his return to city hall.

Joseph Baga, a resident of Tondo, expressed his concerns: “So many crimes now, mostly robberies. I want Isko back for peace and to take care of us seniors.”
In his recent address, Moreno unveiled his “Yorme’s Choice” slate, a carefully selected lineup of congressional and councilor candidates for the upcoming elections. Moreno emphasized the importance of unified leadership to effectively address the city’s challenges.
Moreno also outlined his primary agenda upon reassuming office: an intensified campaign to clean up Manila. Building upon his previous tenure’s initiatives, he aims to tackle issues such as illegal vending, waste management, and the rehabilitation of public spaces to restore order and enhance the city’s livability.
As the movement gains momentum, the citizens of Manila eagerly anticipate the imminent return of a leader who has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to their welfare and the city’s progress, Moreno continues to hold a commanding 74%, way ahead of rivals Sam Versoza (11%) and Honey Lacuna (9%).
