Fwd: Bong Go, Erwin Tulfo lead latest Pulse Asia survey

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Christopher “Bong” Go and ACT-CIS party-list Representative Erwin Tulfo led Pulse Asia’s latest senatorial survey, the polling firm reported Thursday.

The survey, conducted from February 20 to 26, showed Go and Tulfo statistically tied for first to second place, with 58.1 percent and 56.5 percent voter preference, respectively.

“Out of 64 senatorial candidates, 13 have a statistical chance of winning,” Pulse Asia stated in its nine-page report.

The firm also noted that most of the “probable winners” are either former or incumbent lawmakers running and under the administration’s Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas slate.

If the elections were held today, the following candidates would have the highest chances of winning based on voter preference, according to Pulse Asia:

1. Senator Bong Go – 58.1 percent (Rank 1-2)
2. ACT-CIS Representative Erwin Tulfo – 56.5 percent (Rank 1-2)
3. Former Senate President Tito Sotto – 49 percent (Rank 3-4)
4. Senator Bong Revilla – 46.1 percent (Rank 3-6)
5. Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa – 44.3 percent (Rank 4-7)
6. Willie Revillame – 42.3 percent (Rank 4-9)
7. Ben Tulfo – 40.7 percent (Rank 5-11)
8. Former Senator Manny Pacquiao – 39.9 percent (Rank 6-12)
9. Senator Lito Lapid – 39.4 percent (Rank 6-13)
10. Makati City Mayor Abby Binay – 37.6 percent (Rank 7-13)
11. Senator Pia Cayetano – 37.5 percent (Rank 7-13)
12. Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar – 36.6 percent (Rank 8-13)
13. Former Senator Ping Lacson – 35.8 percent (Rank 9-13)

Only Senators Go and dela Rosa, Ben Tulfo and Revillame, are not part of the administration slate.

The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with a sample of 2,400 representative adults aged 18 and above.

Pulse Asia noted a ±2 percent margin of error at a 95 percent confidence level.
