MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has printed 55% of the voter’s information sheets (VIS) for the 2025 midterm elections.
Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia shared this development during the inspection of printing of VIS at the satellite office of National Printing Office in Meycauayan City, Bulacan on Friday.
“Sa kasalukuyan, tayo ay nakapag-imprenta na ng 55% ng lahat ng pangangailangan natin, equivalent po yan sa 37,404,000,” Garcia said in an interview.
(We have printed 55% of what we need, equivalent to 37,404,000 [VIS].)
Garcia pointed out that of this figure, 32% of the VIS were already verified.
“Hopefully maimprenta natin ang lahat ng voter’s information sheet para sa buong bansa ngayong matatapos ang Marso 24,” Garcia added.
(Hopefully, the printing of all voter’s information sheet for the whole country will be finished on March 24.)
Garcia mentioned that the VIS have been distributed to five regions already.
He added that the Comelec is committed to finish its distribution to every registered voter in the country for the whole month of April.
He also said that every registered Filipino voter will receive a four-page VIS.
It contains the name and address of the voter, their polling precinct number, voting instructions and reminders, and the names of local and national candidates, and party-list groups.
Meanwhile, he said that the printing of the ballots will be completed on Saturday. He added that the verification of ballots will be finished on second to third week of April.
The poll body began printing ballots last January 6, resulting in approximately 6 million initial ballots. However, the poll body immediately stopped its production after the Supreme Court issued a temporary restraining order.
The Comelec had to follow the court’s order to include the names of some senatorial aspirants that were initially declared as nuisance candidates by the poll bod
