MANILA, Philippines — The Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate is confident that they will emerge victorious in Cavite during the May 2025 midterm elections, campaign manager and Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco said on Thursday.
In a statement, Tiangco admitted that Cavite has been known as a critical area and decisive battleground for candidates, as the province has over 2.4 million registered voters.
Alyansa is set to visit Trece Martires, Cavite on Friday, before moving to Laguna on Saturday.
“Cavite has always been a decisive force in national elections, and Alyansa is coming in strong with a lineup that understands the pulse of the people,” Tiangco said.
“We have leaders who have proven their ability to deliver results, and we are confident that Caviteños will rally behind us,” he added.
Tiangco and Alyansa noted that since three of their senatorial bets come from Cavite — Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla who was once the provincial governor, Senator Francis Tolentino from Tagaytay, and former senator Panfilo Lacson from Imus — the coalition has a strong hometown advantage.
Aside from that, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. who has endorsed the Alyansa slate won in Cavite during the 2022 presidential race, getting over 1.1 million votes — with 81 percent of registered voters participating.
Alyansa looks to shift its attention to Calabarzon for the third week of March, with Tolentino, former senator Manny Pacquiao, and former Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos already campaigning in Bacoor, Cavite on Tuesday.
Makati Mayor Abby Binay meanwhile visited Batangas and Quezon province on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

After the Cavite sortie on Friday, the Alyansa bets will then move to Santa Rosa City, Laguna.
If these sorties would proceed as scheduled, this would be Alyansa’s 10th and 11th campaign rallies, after the team visited Ilocos Norte, Iloilo, Davao del Norte for the first week of the campaign period, followed by stops to Pasay City, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, San Jose del Monte in Bulacan, and Camarines Sur.
Alyansa’s most recent stop was in Tacloban, Leyte, where the slate held a rally attended by around 100,000 supporters.
Aside from Revilla, Tolentino, Lacson, Abalos, Pacquiao, and Binay, the Alyansa slate is composed of the following candidates:
- Senator Pia Cayetano
- Senator Lito Lapid
- Senator Imee Marcos
- former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III
- ACT-CIS Representative and former Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo
- Deputy Speaker Camille Villar
