Camille Villar leads ceremony for Las Piñas General Hospital expansion
LAS Piñas City – House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar reaffirmed her commitment to accessible and quality healthcare as she led the inauguration of the new 12-story building of the Las Piñas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center (LPGHSTC), which increases the hospital’s bed capacity to 500.
The expansion, mandated under Republic Act No. 11497—authored and championed by Villar—aims to provide better healthcare services for residents of southern Metro Manila and nearby areas in Cavite. It also upgrades the hospital’s medical services and expands its workforce, adding more doctors, nurses, and support staff.
“Mahalaga ang pagkakaroon ng maayos at fully-equipped na mga ospital at medical facilities na accessible para sa ating mga kababayan na may sakit,” Villar said during the inauguration, stressing the need for robust government healthcare programs.
She emphasized that ensuring the well-being of Filipinos is a government responsibility. “Responsibilidad ng pamahalaan ang pagpapatupad ng kalidad na mga health programs na tumutugon at magsisiguro ng kalusugan ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” she added.
LPGHSTC Medical Director Dr. Ignacia Guia Fajardo expressed gratitude to Villar and her family—Senators Cynthia and Mark Villar—for their role in securing funding for the hospital’s expansion.
A strong advocate for public health, Villar has made healthcare a top priority in her legislative work. Now running for a Senate seat, she has pledged to push for more innovative and forward-looking policies to address critical issues in healthcare, education, housing, women’s rights, and business development.
With this major hospital expansion under her leadership, Villar continues to solidify her track record in delivering impactful reforms that improve the lives of Filipinos.
