Marcos makes no mention of Imee, this time in Laguna sortie
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. once again made no mention of his sister—Sen. Imee Marcos—while introducing the candidates under the administration’s senatorial slate in a sortie in Laguna on Saturday.
Marcos led the “Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas” rally at the East Bloc Nuvali in the City of Sta. Rosa.
This is not the first time the chief executive skipped his sister while introducing senatorial candidates he endorsed. In his speech during a sortie in Cavite on Friday, Marcos Jr. did not introduce the senator, who earlier launched a Senate probe on former President Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest.

In response to this, Sen. Marcos brushed off his brother’s actions.
“K lang, tutal sinabi ko na, na ang aking tututukan ay ang pagsisiyasat ng mga pangyayaring labag sa batas noong kinuha si FPRRD (former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte),” she said in a statement to reporters.
(It’s okay, after all, I already said that I would focus on investigating the illegal events that took place when former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was taken.)
She echoed these sentiments in a forum held in Quezon City earlier Saturday.
Last March 11, Duterte was served an arrest warrant by the ICC over alleged crimes against humanity committed during his administration’s brutal drug war.
Duterte is currently detained in The Hague, the Netherlands where ICC is based. He attended his pre-trial hearing via video call last March 14.
Based on reports, Duterte’s war on drugs left at least 6,000 people dead; however, human rights groups reported that the number may have reached 20,000.
