Alyansa’s Bulacan, Pampanga sorties postponed as bets join local rallies

MANILA, Philippines — The Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas’ scheduled sorties in Bulacan and Pampanga have been postponed as some senatorial bets will join local candidates at the start of the campaign period for local elections, campaign manager and Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco said.
Tiangco said on Tuesday that the slate has given way to invitations from local candidates, allowing the senatorial aspirants to engage with leaders and communities at the grassroots level.
Local candidates will formally start their campaign on Friday, March 28.
“Some Alyansa candidates have been invited to attend local proclamation rallies, which are typically held on Fridays and Saturdays. With the start of the local campaign on March 28, they’ve received multiple invitations they wish to accommodate,” Tiangco said in a message to reporters after being quizzed about the reason for the sorties’ postponement.
“In response, we decided to postpone our scheduled rallies to give way to these local events and allow candidates to engage directly with local leaders and communities,” he added.
After visiting Cavite and Laguna provinces over the weekend, the Alyansa was supposed to stop by the two Central Luzon provinces on March 28 and March 29.
Initially, Alyansa’s media relations officers announced that the Pampanga sortie would be scheduled for another date. Then earlier, the slate said the Bulacan sortie would also be moved.
Bulacan and Pampanga would have been the 12th and 13th provinces that Alyansa will visit after the team visited Ilocos Norte, Iloilo, Davao del Norte for the first week of the campaign period, followed by stops to Pasay City, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, San Jose del Monte in Bulacan, and Camarines Sur.
Last March 14, the team was in Tacloban, Leyte before visiting Cavite and Laguna.

Alyansa, backed by five political parties, including President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, is fielding the following candidates:
