Camille Villar gets endorsement from Muntinlupa City execs
Muntinlupa City — Senatorial candidate Camille Villar received a major boost to her campaign on Saturday night as Muntinlupa City executives officially threw their support to her candidacy.
During the city’s proclamation rally, Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon endorsed Villar, highlighting her long-standing connection to the city.
Villar expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized her deep-rooted ties to Muntinlupa.
“Kayo po ang inspirasyon ko para pagbutihin ang aking pagseserbisyo-publiko,” she said, noting that her grandfather, Dr. Filomino Aguilar, once served as a barrio doctor in both Muntinlupa and Las Piñas.
(You are my inspiration to improve and dedicate myself even more to public service.)
Villar also vowed to champion key legislative initiatives focusing on job creation, financial literacy, maternal and reproductive health, housing, and education—issues she said are close to her heart and vital to Filipino families.
Her family’s legacy in Muntinlupa runs deep. Her father, former Senate President Manny Villar, was the district’s lone representative from 1992 to 1998 and authored the law that elevated Muntinlupa to city status in 1995. Her mother, Senator Cynthia Villar, was born in Muntinlupa and attended Muntinlupa Elementary School.
“Napakalaking bahagi po ng Muntinlupa sa buhay ng aming pamilya,” Villar said, emphasizing her personal connection to the city. “Asahan niyo pong nandito lamang ako… hayaan ninyong maging boses ninyo ako para sama-sama nating maitaguyod ang pag-asenso ng buhay ng ating mga kababayan.”
(Muntinlupa holds a significant place in our family’s life. Rest assured, I am here… allow me to be your voice so that together, we can uplift the lives of our fellow citizens.)
The endorsement from Biazon, a key local leader in southern Metro Manila, is seen as a significant development in Villar’s campaign as she continues to build grassroots support across the country.
