MANILA, Philippines — Manila third district councilor candidate Mocha Uson has ordered her team to stop the usage of campaign materials perceived to have sexual undertones after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) called her out.
Uson made the immediate response to the letter by the Comelec anti-discrimination panel on April 8 pertaining to her “cookie ni Mocha (Mocha’s cookie)” jingle and catchphrase.

“In view of the issues raised, I have instructed my campaign team to immediately halt the use of the materials in question,” Uson said in a statement on Wednesday. “We are currently reviewing all our content to ensure that it aligns with the standards of decency and appropriateness expected in public discourse and electoral engagement.”
In its letter, the Comelec task force said that while such tactics undermine the serious discussions needed about policy and governance, sex-positive themes are okay if done with propriety.
“I fully recognize the importance of maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and age-appropriate tone in all campaign communications,” Uson said as she assured the Comelec that she and her team are committed “to promoting meaningful dialogue on governance, policy, and the future of our communities.”
“We remain hopeful that this campaign can contribute positively to the democratic process and inspire broader participation,” she added.
Uson ran but lost as one of the nominees under the Mothers for Change (Mocha) party-list in the 2022 elections.
