Robin Padilla endorses Imee Marcos

MANILA, Philippines — Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) President and Senator Robin Padilla has endorsed presidential sister and reelectionist Senator Imee Marcos.

Marcos announced Padilla’s endorsement in a Facebook post on Saturday afternoon.

The 30-second video showed a brief conversation between the two senators discussing industries, which Marcos aims to focus on.

Padilla’s endorsement came after Marcos withdrew from the administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas last March 26.

”I cannot stand on the same campaign platform as the rest of the Alyansa. As I have stated from the outset of the election period, I will continue to maintain my independence,” Marcos explained.

Rumors of an alleged rift between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his sister surfaced after the latter decided to distance herself from the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas.

During the previous rallies of the alliance, the President also skipped his sister’s name while introducing other candidates.
