Cebu Gov. Garcia endorses Abby Binay for Senate

MANILA, Philippines —  Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has endorsed senatorial candidate and Makati Mayor Abby Binay during a caravan and campaign rally in Cebu on Saturday.

In a statement from Binay’s office, Garcia urged residents in Cebu to support the mayor, citing her public service in Makati.

“Let us help Abby Binay secure a seat in the Senate of the Republic of the Philippines. Under her leadership, the people of Makati greatly benefited from her transparent and sincere service,” Garcia said in Cebuano.

Aside from Garcia, Binay also earned the endorsement of Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado and Poblacion Occidental Barangay Captain Allary Alegado during her visit to the municipality of Consolacion in Cebu.

Garcia also supported other senatorial candidates such as Former Senate president Tito Sotto III, former senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, and former senator Manny Pacquiao.
