Lakas candidates show strength in Albay mayoral races
In most other municipalities, the party’s candidates are positioned in a close second place.
In the highly contested Legazpi City race, Lakas candidate Kap Hisham Ismail holds the lead with 39 percent voter support, ahead of disqualified mayor Carmen Geraldine Rosal (PDP-Laban) at 32 percent.
Beyond Legazpi, Lakas candidates also lead in the municipalities of Malinao, Sto. Domingo, Tiwi, Camalig, Daraga, Rapu-Rapu, Pio Duran, and Polangui. In Malinao, Leny Ceriola is in a statistical tie with LP’s Shie Capus. Jun Aguas leads over PFP’s Bong Banda in Sto. Domingo, while Russel Reyes is ahead of LP’s Jojo Climaco in Tiwi.

Tight races are also observed in Guinobatan, where Chino Garcia is just behind NUP’s Ann Ongjoco; in Jovellar, with Joey Nobleza trailing NUP’s Jorem Arcangel; and in Libon, where Ding Olivarez follows NUP’s Mac Sayson.
Lakas candidates also hold second place, though by wider margins, in Malilipot, Ligao City, and Oas.
In the gubernatorial race, Lakas bet Joey Salceda is leading over former Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal of PDP-Laban.
Meanwhile, Lakas candidates are also leading in all three congressional districts of Albay. In the 1st District, Rep. Raul Angelo ‘Jil’ Bongalon (Lakas) has overtaken Tabaco Mayor Krisel Lagman (Liberal Party) to secure the lead. In the 2nd District, former Ako Bicol Rep. Christopher ‘Kito’ Co (Lakas) has surged far ahead of his opponent, Caloy Loria (PDP-Laban), holding a substantial lead.
