Isko Moreno endorses FPJ Panday Bayanihan party-list’s Brian Poe
Former Manila Mayor and candidate Isko Moreno has endorsed FPJ Panday Bayanihan party-list’s first nominee Brian Poe, marking an important development in the local political landscape.
In his address to the crowd, Poe expressed his joy and gratitude for Yorme.
“Yorme” is a colloquial nickname for Moreno. It is derived from “mayor,” his former position.
“Our partnership with Yorme goes way back. Even when I was just my mother’s chief of staff, I would already come here to Manila to deliver aid together with Yorme,” Poe said in Filipino.
“That’s why for me, I’m really happy to be on Yorme’s stage today because my friend gave me this opportunity. I’m very grateful to him, and just like when my mother ran for president in 2016, Yorme was one of her senatorial candidates. I don’t know if you remember, but back then, my mother gave Yorme a platform — and now, Yorme is giving me a platform. So I’m truly happy and thankful to him,” he added.
Moreno, on the other hand, shared a personal connection with the late National Artist and movie icon Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ) and his daughter, Senator Grace Poe, Brian’s mother.
“Now, someone came here — this is the grandchild of my godfather. FPJ is my godfather, that’s why I really supported Grace Poe when she ran for president, because FPJ is my godfather,” Moreno said in Filipino.
His heartfelt remarks show a deep loyalty to his long-standing friendship with FPJ, strengthening the emotional bond between the two families.
“Now, his grandchild is here — they have a party-list, the FPJ [Panday Bayanihan] party-list, represented by Brian Poe,” Moreno said in Filipino.
This endorsement not only reflects Moreno’s dedication to the next generation of leaders but also his commitment to enhancing the lives of Filipinos, particularly those in Manila. Together, they aspire to address community needs and uplift the nation through collective efforts.
The core mission of the FPJ Panday Bayanihan party-list focuses on ensuring food security, promoting progress, and achieving justice for all Filipinos. It is dedicated to addressing the needs and aspirations of the Filipino people, ensuring that their voices are not only heard but also valued in political discourse. By concentrating on these essential areas, they aim to cultivate a sustainable future for every citizen in the nation.
Moreno’s support for the FPJ Panday Bayanihan party-list extends beyond political backing; it reflects a shared vision for the growth and development of Manila and the Philippines. Together, they strive to elevate the community and inspire hope for a better tomorrow for everyone.
