MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Saturday refuted a claim that voters who will fail to present their National ID on election day will not be able to cast their votes for the May 2025 elections.
The Comelec said that a “No National ID, No Vote” public advisory was not posted in any of the poll body’s social media platforms.
“The supposed ‘No National ID, No Vote’ public advisory is FALSE and DID NOT ORIGINATE from the Commission on Elections,” Comelec said in an advisory.
Comelec said that on election day, “[v]oters will only be asked to present a valid ID in case their identity cannot be verified through the Election Day Computerized Voters’ List (ECVL).”

The poll body advised the public to only verify information through its official sources.
The Comelec also recently launched its precinct finder for the May 2025 elections. Registered voters can access this link: https://precinctfinder.comelec.gov.ph
The website will ask for a full name, birthday, and place of registration.

Meanwhile, Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia previously said the voter information sheet (VIS) distributed to every registered Filipino voter can serve as their “kodigo” or cheat sheet on election day.
The four-page VIS contains the voter’s precinct number, voting reminders and instructions, and names of national and local candidates.
