JIL releases initial list of endorsed Senate bets

JIL endorses 5 Senate bets

MANILA, Philippines — The religious group Jesus is Lord  Church (JIL) Worldwide on Sunday revealed the initial list of senatorial candidates it is endorsing for the midterm elections.

Based on a document obtained byINQUIRER.net,  the JIL said it is supporting the candidacy of former senators Manny Pacquiao, Tito Sotto, Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Panfilo Lacson and Sen. Pia Cayetano.

“After much prayer, fasting, and study, JIL Worldwide’s Executive Selection Committee for the 2025 Midterm Elections has concluded its initial deliberations and has shortlisted senatorial candidates for endorsement,” the document read.

It also stated that the JIL Executive Selection Committee has adopted a set of “stringent criteria rooted in Christian values,” with a strong emphasis on candidates’ commitment to “truth, justice, and righteousness.”

“This is in keeping with Proverbs 14:34, which says, ‘Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people’,” it also read.

Moreover, the JIL said its Executive Selection Committee met with various candidates, listened to their advocacies, assessed their stances on key moral issues, and reviewed their track records.

This process led to the conclusion of the initial list of senatorial candidates they are endorsing.

“Pastors are instructed to ensure that all our 1,509 chapters across 82 provinces in the Philippines and 70 countries worldwide are completely informed of this endorsement,” the JIL said.

Deliberations are ongoing, and a second batch of endorsements will be announced in the coming days, it added.

“Let’s continue praying for a clean, orderly, honest, and God-centered elections in our beloved nation. God bless us all and God bless the Philippines!” the JIL said.
