DAGUPAN CITY – Senatorial candidate Camille Villar joined the lively festivities of the Bangus Festival in Dagupan, Pangasinan, expressing strong support for the region’s thriving aquaculture industry and pledging continued assistance to local fisheries and agriculture.
Villar, one of the youngest senatorial hopefuls, was visibly enthusiastic as she participated in the Bangusan Street Party, the festival’s main event, which featured a record-breaking 20,000 pieces of milkfish grilled across 1,100 grills.
She praised the diversity and quality of the bangus showcased, calling it a symbol of the city’s agricultural abundance.
“This festival is not just a celebration of Dagupan’s most prized produce, but also a testament to the hard work and heritage of the local community,” Villar said.
She highlighted the importance of sustaining the province’s aquaculture success, noting Dagupan’s pivotal role in the national milkfish industry.
Villar reaffirmed her commitment to advancing support programs for farmers and fisherfolk in Pangasinan and beyond.
The Bangus Festival, a staple event in Dagupan’s cultural calendar, draws thousands of locals and tourists annually and continues to spotlight the city’s contribution to the Philippine aquaculture sector.
