Solo Parents Party-list gains momentum for May polls, SWS survey says
MANILA, Philippines – The Solo Parents Party-list is emerging as a strong contender in the upcoming midterm elections, showing significant upward momentum in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
According to the most recent SWS data, the Solo Parents Party-ist surged significantly moving from the 49th to 85th range in a previous survey to a much stronger 19th to 26th position.
This notable jump places the group well within the threshold to potentially secure at least two seats in the House of Representatives.
The improved ranking reflects growing public recognition of the unique challenges faced by solo parents and the party-list’s consistent local engagements and social advocacy.
Many supporters view the Solo Parents Party-list as a dignified voice against discrimination and outdated stereotypes following their filing of petitions for disqualification against several local candidates who uttered controversial remarks involving solo parents.
“This dramatic shift in the survey results shows that our message is resonating,” said Dr. Roselle Teodosio, the party-list’s spokesperson.
“We are fighting not just for representation, but for real policy reform that uplifts solo parents and their children.”
With just a week to go before the elections, the Solo Parents Party-list is banking on this momentum to convert public support into votes—aiming to be the voice of solo parents in the lower chamber of Congress.
