Iglesia ni Cristo endorses Isko Moreno, Chi Atienza for Manila

With just one week remaining until the 2025 midterm elections, former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Chi Atienza has secured the endorsement of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) for their bid to return to city hall. Although the church has not made an official public announcement, sources confirm its support for Moreno and Atienza.

Moreno, who served as mayor from 2019 to 2022, is running to reclaim his former post. The INC’s endorsement also covers 26 out of 36 candidates for Manila City Council under his ticket.

Survey results from OCTA Research, conducted from April 20 to 23 and released on April 29, show Moreno with 63 percent of voter support, far ahead of incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna with 18% and Sam Versoza with 16%.

The endorsement from INC adds to Moreno’s already wide lead as the campaign enters its final week.
