Comelec files raps vs 3 impostors in Laguna

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections has filed charges of usurpation of authority and falsification of public documents against three individuals arrested in Laguna for allegedly posing as Comelec employees.
This was announced by Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia at the Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum on Wednesday.

“We are very much willing ng mag-extend ng hand of peace sa tatlong ito—sabihin lang nila kung sino ang mga nasa likod nila, ano ang involve, ano ang talagang pakay nila doon sa lugar,” he said.
(We are very much willing to extend a hand of peace to these three—just tell us who is behind them, what is involved, and what their real purpose was in that place.)
“Hindi kami naniniwalang nagpi-picture lang sila sa mga ACM [automated counting machines] namin at bakit kinakailangang gumamit sila ng mga logong nakadikit ng Comelec sa sasakyan nila,” Garcia added.
(We don’t believe they were just taking pictures of our ACMs, and why did they have to use vehicles with Comelec stickers on them?)
Based on police reports, the individuals claimed to be from the Comelec headquarters in Intramuros, Manila, and said they were members of “Task Force Kontra Bigay.”
They were allegedly supposed to inspect the ACMs at a school in Laguna.
However, Garcia clarified during the forum that the task force no longer exists and has since been replaced by the Committee on Kontra Bigay.
The poll body also emphasized that it did not authorize any plan to inspect the ACMs at the school in connection with the elections
