Energized by the verve, candor, and confidence of 1Pacman party-list first nominee Milka Romero, thousands of volunteers and leaders of Sangguniang Kabataan in Biñan, Laguna are signing up for the 1Pacman Laguna Youth Movement, which was recently launched at the Patio Ysabelle Events Place.

A former national athlete and captain of the Ateneo Women’s Football Team, Romero brought her trademark energy and commitment to youth empowerment as she led the movement’s inaugural assembly.

“1Pacman is here because we believe in you,” said Romero. “We have delivered over 30,000 scholarships in our three terms in Congress—and we’re just getting started. We mean what we say, and we say what we mean.”

FEATURED STORIES

Romero has visited markets in Laguna, distributing aprons to vendors as a symbol of unity in improving their conditions.

Across the Philippines, she has toured fish ports in Tagbilaran City, ridden bancas and dived among Bohol’s reefs, organized sports and youth camps in Palawan, joined festivals and met with factory workers in Cebu, and sung with mothers and the elderly — all in the name of raising awareness for women’s rights, youth empowerment, and grassroots advocacies in health, education, and sports.

As CEO of the Miro Group and owner of two women’s professional teams—the Capital1 Solar Spikers and Capital1 Solar Strikers—Romero embodies the kind of multi-hyphenated leadership that she hopes to help cultivate in the next generation using the language of sports – focus, discipline, training, team work, respect for others, and strategic thinking, as well as enjoyment of the process.

Under the 1Pacman Youth Movement, programs start off with priority access to scholarship programs; leadership camps and workshops on project management and good communication; mentoring in public service; support for community initiatives and youth-led outreach; participation in sports clinics to reinforce discipline, teamwork, and strategic thinking; and entrepreneurial training, including feasibility studies and startup support.

“Today’s youth are tomorrow’s champions. And 1Pacman will continue to be your strongest ally—whether in school, in the barangay, or in life,” Romero said, noting that 1Pacman’s champion moves in education are coupled in the fields of nutrition and health, and access to livelihood and jobs.

As election day draws near, Romero has become a symbol for positive, high-energy force, reaching out to sectors with a powerful message: “The future belongs to those who prepare, dare, and share. Let’s win together – this May 12 and beyond.
