Sarah Discaya to Pasigueños: Vote for leaders who put you first

Pasig City mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya

Pasig City mayoral bet Sarah Discaya on Thursday appealed to Pasigueños to vote wisely and choose leaders who would look out for their welfare and ensure to make their future better when they exercise their right of suffrage on May 12.

“Vote with wisdom. Vote with heart. Vote with conviction. Vote for the future,” Discaya said.

“Carefully weigh your options and vote for candidates who put your welfare over and above their personal comfort,” she added.

She cited the P9.6-billion budget that the current city administration allocated for the construction of a new and modern Pasig City Hall.

Discaya said spending billions of pesos for the construction of a grand office for city hall officials would deprive Pasigueños of much-needed public infrastructure, such as hospitals and schools.

Discaya said that if she is elected as city mayor, she would use the P9.6-billion budget to construct a new city hall, which she can do for only P2.7 billion; an 11-storey public hospital (P500 million), five 11-storey housing buildings (P2 billion), an 11-storey university building (P500 million), five 7-storey high school buildings (P500 million), and five 4-storey elementary school buildings (P500 million).

She would also build two new bridges (P300 million), a three-kilometer road in Barangay Pinagbuhatan (P100 million), a three-kilometer drainage and flood control project also in Barangay Pinagbuhatan (P100 million), and 30 new multi-level multipurpose halls and covered courts (P1.5 billion).

“The same P9.6-billion budget, but two completely different directions. Under my administration, I see beyond buildings, I see the future of every Pasigueño in every peso spent. Under my administration, every peso counts. Every project uplifts. Every family gains a better future. The real priority is the people, not the office,” Discaya said.

“The point is simple: Same budget, two very different priorities. Ate Sarah: housing, healthcare, education, safety, youth, and community. Mayor Vico: one grand office for himself.”

“So, ask yourselves: Who truly cares? Who listens? Who puts you first? The leader who spreads the blessings across the entire city or the leader who spent everything on one building?” she added.
