Metro Manila residents are giving attention to the remarkable sports-bred brand of leadership of 1Pacman party-list first nominee Milka Romero. Always on the lookout for fresh approaches, Metro Manila residents set the tone and pace in many ways.
“We score high with a big heart. We hit hard where it matters — the services delivered for those who need services the most, and the laws passed in areas that need change,” Romero said during a recent visit to Sampaloc, Manila.
Bolstered by the voices of top-ranked, high-performing national athletes and known personalities, and coupled by honest-to-goodness observations of townsfolk, the 1Pacman’s high-energy campaign is headed toward victory.
Quite understandably, the anchor of 1Pacman’s campaign is simple: track record and genuine concern for the people through the development of the champion mindset for the youth.

Romero, a former Ateneo varsity football captain and now owner of professional women’s teams, has been running her own food and beverage group since she was 19—quietly but effectively helping uplift thousands of Filipinos through grassroots outreach.
She was chair of the 1Pacman foundation when her father, Mikee Romero, served three consecutive terms as party-list congressman.
The party-list authored and helped pass 147 laws, including the Universal Health Care Act, Free College Tuition Law, Magna Carta for the Poor, and the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

“We set our sights beyond policy. In Manila and across the country, we’ve funded some 2,000 life-saving heart surgeries, supported 30,000 scholars, and helped 75,000 families with medical aid. That’s what we mean by ‘big heart,” Romero recently told attendees in Sampaloc and Paco, Manila sorties.
From community feeding programs in Tondo to sports clinics for at-risk youth in San Andres, 1Pacman has invested in people, not just policies. Romero said this blend of strong legislative performance and direct community aid is what sets them apart.
As she steps into leadership, Romero looks at increased focus on the aspects of nutrition, education, and jobs generation.
“1Pacman is set on its goal of improving the quality of sports at the grassroots level. And where best to start, but at community level nutrition for our children, and youth, and access to quality education,” she said.
“Health also involves mental alertness and development of strong mindsets to achieve,” she added.
Romero hopes to continue and expand the work started by her father, and she appreciates Manileños for giving 1Pacman a serious second look.
“We appeal to you to make your party-list vote truly count, choose one that’s been delivering all along with a purpose. 1Pacman fights hard and gives back generously. That’s what I offer as your nominee,” she said.
She emphasizes that while politics can often be performative, 1Pacman remains focused on essentials: health, education, sports, nutrition, and livelihood.
“If our children are healthy, if our workers are skilled, if our youth have hope, and act with this hope, then our country will thrive. That’s the vision I want to fight for,” she said.
