The endorsement from Vice President Sara Duterte sparked what Villar’s camp describes as a “snowball of support” across the region. On Thursday, she was welcomed in Malita by a large crowd during a meet-and-greet event held at Tabat Gym, attended by barangay officials, solo parents, senior citizens, tricycle drivers, and youth groups.

Addressing the crowd, Villar pledged to push for legislation aligned with her core advocacies, including women empowerment, education, mental health, housing, gender equality, financial literacy, and the development of small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs).
“Sa panahon na maraming hinaharap na batikos, malaking bagay po ang inyong pinakitang suporta,” Villar said in her message, thanking the people for their warm welcome. “Nagpapasalamat po ako sa inyong mainit na pagtanggap at pagmamahal.”
Villar, who has been campaigning on a platform focused on social welfare and economic opportunity, said the support from Mindanaoans gives her renewed strength and motivation as election day approaches. She also vowed to continue supporting the people of Davao Occidental in return.
The event further highlights Villar’s growing momentum in key regions, particularly in the South, as the campaign season draws to a close.
