Man lobs grenade at village hall in Cabanatuan City

cabanatuanCABANATUAN CITY — An unidentified motorcycle-riding man threw a grenade at the village hall of Barangay Mabini Extension in this city early morning Saturday, May 10, two days before the national and local elections.

Barangay chairman Mycon Capinpin said in a social media post that the incident transpired at around 4:20 a.m. The grenade exploded but no one was reported hurt.

Footage taken by a closed-circuit television camera shows a man stopped for a while in front of the barangay hall located along the Cabanatuan City – Papaya Road before throwing something in the direction of the building compound.

The suspect was seen escaping immediately after throwing the object.

Police are still investigating to determine the motive and the identity of the suspect.
