Pangilinan secures endorsements from Remulla of Cavite after Cebu support
MANILA, Philippines – Senatorial candidate and former agriculture chief Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan is gaining critical ground in the 2025 national elections with high-profile endorsements from two of the country’s most politically influential provinces, Cebu and Cavite.
Fresh off securing the support of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia, Pangilinan was publicly endorsed on Friday by Cavite gubernatorial candidate Francisco Gabriel “Abeng” Remulla during a campaign rally in Cavite. The event, which drew a sizable local crowd, marked a turning point in Pangilinan’s Senate comeback bid, with the Remulla family, an enduring force in Cavite politics, openly throwing their support behind him.
“Ako po ay humihingi ulit ng inyong tulong para mailuklok muli para maituloy natin ang pagsuporta sa magsasaka at mangingisda,” Pangilinan said during his remarks, highlighting his long-standing advocacy for farmers and fisherfolk. He emphasized his deep ties to Cavite, being a resident of Silang and promised swift, localized responses to the province’s needs.
Following his speech, Remulla, along with vice gubernatorial candidate Ram Revilla and other local officials, raised Pangilinan’s hands in a symbolic show of unity and endorsement.
These twin endorsements from Cebu and Cavite, home to over 5.8 million registered voters combined, signal a growing cross-regional coalition around Pangilinan’s independent Senate run. Both provinces are widely seen as decisive vote-rich areas in the midterm elections.
Running as an independent, Pangilinan has built his campaign around inclusive governance and grassroots empowerment. His back-to-back endorsements underscore not just political momentum but also mounting trust in his ability to unify diverse sectors and regions behind a common vision for national development.
