MANILA, Philippines — Manila City mayoral candidate Isko Moreno cast his vote for the midterm elections on Monday.
The former city mayor arrived at his polling precinct around 10:15 a.m. and finished casting his vote around 10:30 at the Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School in Tondo, Manila.
Moreno donned a plain white shirt and a white cap with a letter ‘Y’ on it. Some took a picture with him, with many of them shouting “Yorme!” (Mayor!)

In an interview with the media, Moreno shared that his voting process went smoothly, with him feeding the ballot into the automated counting machine and getting the receipt in more than a minute.
Moreno shared that he and his family will be monitoring the results of the elections in the afternoon onwards. He also said that they continue to look closely into the reports of alleged election violations.
“So far, no unnecessary incident except when reports of vote-buying broke out. Now we’re monitoring it. But still we continue to believe Manila voters are discerning,” Moreno said in mixed Filipino and English.
