Elderly voter dies after casting ballot in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — A 65-year-old man died shortly after casting his vote in Oas town, Albay province, early Monday morning.
Police identified the voter as Nestor Rensales, who collapsed inside the polling precinct at Oas South Central School in Barangay Ilaor Sur at 6:05 a.m., according to Brig. Gen. Andre Perez Dizon, chief of the Bicol Police Regional Office..
Election medical staff administered first aid at the scene before transporting Rensales to Josefina Belmonte Duran Albay Provincial Hospital in nearby Ligao City, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities said Rensales had a history of stroke.
