Mutia, who would serve as the PBC chairperson, cited security as the main reason for choosing the Army camp as canvassing venue and the fact that the Maguindanao del Norte provincial government is yet to have its legislative building.
The canvassing for congressional candidates and party-list and Special Geographic Area (SGA-BARMM) posts shall also be held inside the military camp.
Municipal-level canvassing and eventual proclamation of winners will be at the respective town’s legislative buildings.
Mutia also announced that the Comelec-Maguindano del Norte technical hub–including IT experts, technicians and spare automated counting machines or ACMs and other documents–has been moved inside the Army camp from Cotabato City. /cfc
