Isko Moreno leads Manila mayoral race by a huge margin

MANILA, Philippines — Former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is poised for a massive comeback as he garnered a whopping 557,534 votes against his former political partner and current Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna.

Lacuna has so far only received 196,850 votes based on the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) partial and unofficial results of the 2025 elections as of 11:21 p.m.

Another prominent rival, Sam Verzosa garnered 170,383 votes.

Moreno and Lacuna’s rivalry in this year’s mayoral election in Manila established itself as the one of most dramatic in the National Capital Region.

Lacuna served as Moreno’s vice mayor from 2019 to 2022, before succeeding him when the latter ran for president in the 2022 elections.
