TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — Rep. Richard Gomez will remain as the House representative of Leyte’s 4th District while his wife Lucy Torres-Gomez was reelected mayor of Ormoc City.

Based on the partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) as of 10:01 p.m. on Monday, Gomez had 163,188 votes.

His opponent, former justice Vicente Sofronio Veloso, got 121,615 votes.

Gomez will be serving her second term as representative.

His wife defeated her rival, Violy Codilla, based on the unofficial and partial results.

Torres-Gomez obtained 90,153 votes while Codilla garnered 51,791 votes.
