Cynthia Villar, party losing Las Piñas bid
MANILA, Philippines — Senator Cynthia Villar who is vying for a congressional seat in Las Piñas is struggling to garner enough votes to win, potentially marking the first time a Villar would lose a political bid in the southern Metro Manila city.
As of 12:41 a.m., Villar has only garnered 84,232 votes in the Commission on Elections’ partial and unofficial results of the 2025 elections.

She is so far beaten by her rival, Mark Anthony Santos, who already has garnered 115,983 votes.
Villar’s other partymates in the electoral bid are also presently losing, with her nephew Carlo Aguilar being beaten by his cousin April Aguilar—85,547 to 125,069, respectively.
April’s mother, Imelda Aguilar also currently has the edge against Louie Bustamante, holding 131,685 votes against the latter’s 71,703. /cb
