Jeannie Sandoval wins bid for 2nd term as Malabon mayor

MANILA — Incumbent Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval was proclaimed Tuesday as the winner of the mayoral race in the just-concluded May 12 midterm elections.

Sandoval was formally proclaimed by Malabon City Election Officer Jethmal Dayaldas, the Malabon City Facebook page said in a post.

“Ginanap ang proklamasyon sa Session Hall sa ika-6 na palapag ng Malabon City Hall,” it added.

(The proclamation took place at the Session Hall at the sixth floor of the Malabon City Hall.)

Sandoval is serving her second term as the city’s highest ranking elected official.

She was first elected Malabon mayor in 2022.

Partial and unofficial returns showed Sandoval getting 92,621 votes compared to her opponent, Jaye Lacson-Noel, who got 50,409 votes./apl
