TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines — Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que was proclaimed winner of Tuguegarao City’s mayoral race early Monday morning, May 13, securing a fresh three-year term in what she described as a “bittersweet” victory.
Ting-Que garnered 45,314 votes, defeating former mayor and lawyer Jefferson Soriano in a rematch of their 2022 showdown.
In her message to supporters, Ting-Que expressed gratitude for the renewed mandate.
“Thank you so much for the love, for the understanding, for the passion, and support. Please be assured that it is the same Maila you will be seeing — one who is honest, transparent, and accountable,” she said.

Despite her win, Ting-Que acknowledged mixed emotions, as her brother, former three-term House Rep. Randolph Ting, lost his bid for the Cagayan 1st District seat to incumbent Rep. Joseph Lara.
Ting-Que will be joined at City Hall by newly elected Vice Mayor Pastor Ross Resuello, who triumphed over incumbent Vice Mayor Bienvenido “Ben-ben” De Guzman and Arnel Arugay.
The city council will include the following elected councilors: top-vote-getter Charo Soriano (daughter of former mayor Soriano), Ronald Ortiz, Mark Angelo Dayag, Jude Bayona, Lope Apostor Jr., Atty. Aldous Baccay, Tirso Mangada, Denden Avila, Myrna Te, Mariel Ayna Ting, Karina Gauani, and Anthony Tuddao.
