Lilia Pineda leads Pampanga gubernatorial race

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines — Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda of the local party Kambilan appeared poised for victory in her bid for governor, leading with 709,694 votes, a 233,052-vote margin over businessman-pastor Danilo Baylon, who received 476,642 votes.
This is based on a copy of the canvass, which had yet to be signed, and was consolidated by the Provincial Board of Canvassers on Tuesday, covering 19 towns and two cities.
The third candidate, Amado Santos, secured 6,864 votes.

Meanwhile, Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) increased his chances of securing the vice governorship, receiving 751,077 votes and leading his sole rival, former governor Eddie Panlilio, by a commanding 364,021 votes.
The canvass reported a voter turnout of 85.46 percent, with 1,250,291 votes cast out of 1,463,014 registered voters. INQ
