Cynthia Villar concedes defeat in Las Piñas bid

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Cynthia Villar, who is unlikely to secure the congressional seat in Las Piñas City based on partial and unofficial results of the 2025 elections, has conceded defeat and thanked her supporters.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday evening, Villar also vowed to continuously advance programs for the country.

“Thank you very much, Las Piñas! Although we were not lucky in the elections, I sincerely thank you for your support and trust,” she said in Filipino.
“My service to you does not end here. I will continue to promote programs and advocacy that will help our people,” Villar added.
The senator noted that her message is not a goodbye but a continuation of her love and service to every Las Piñero.
Based on data from the Commission on Elections transparency server as of 11:32 a.m. on May 13, Mark Anthony Santos remains in the lead with 108,206 votes; Villar, on the other hand, has 78,526 votes. /das
