PPCRV only waiting for less than 3% of votes, mostly from BARMM

MANILA, Philippines — Poll watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) is only waiting for less than three percent of votes—mostly from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)—to be transmitted to transparency servers.
As of Wednesday morning, PPCRV spokesperson Ana Singson said they have so far gone through 97.36 percent of the votes from 91,161 precincts nationwide.

“We’re still waiting for roughly less than 3 percent of the vote. And we’re waiting mostly for the votes coming from BARMM. The remaining balance a lot of them will be coming from the BARMM area,” PPCRV spokesperson Ana said in a short press conference on Wednesday.
“This is the transmission in percentage. If you take a look at BARMM, this is the only region under 90 percent at 74.33 percent. Everybody else is already above 90 percent. And Region 9 is the only region below 95 percent,” she added.
Singson also explained the difference between votes that are immediately transmitted and imported.
According to her, votes labeled as “transmitted” were transmitted to servers at polling centers. On the other hand, votes that were labeled “transmitted imported” meant that automated counting machines were transferred first from polling precincts to canvassing centers before they were transmitted to servers.
Earlier, Singson called for volunteers to help audit election returns (ERs) to ensure transparency in the transmitted midterm election results.
She emphasized that vote counts are most vulnerable to manipulation during their transmission to servers; hence, manual checking is necessary to verify if the tallies on the transmitted results online and the physical ERs match. / MR
