Based on PCG’s latest update, CCG vessels 3306 and 21549 continue to shadow the Atin Ito convoy, now approximately 58 nautical miles from El Nido.

The civilian ship is expected to arrive in the vicinity of Pag-asa Island on Wednesday morning (May 28). In the area, the coalition will stage a peace concert featuring local and foreign musical artists from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Korea.

Since January, Philippine authorities have been monitoring the movements of CCG vessels “unlawfully operating” within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone.

Beijing’s continued aggression was based on its assertion of sovereignty over almost the entire South China Sea, including most of the West Philippine Sea, as it continues to reject the 2016 arbitral ruling that effectively dismissed its claims and ruled in favor of Manila. /jpv
