MANILA, Philippines — Expelled Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr., who arrived late Thursday night after being deported from Timor-Leste, is now under custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Teves is facing serveral counts of murder and frustrated murder under the Revised Penal Code in connection with the March 4, 2023, attack on the residence of Gov. Roel Degamo in Pamplona, Negros Oriental.
Reacting to Teves’ deportation, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said in a video message: “We would like to assure out citizens that such lawlessness will not go unpunished. It is now time for Arnie Teves to face justice.”
