MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will pilot-test in Metro Manila the nighttime voters registration program from July 1 to July 7, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
This is part of its Register Anywhere Program (RAP) from July 1 to July 11 for those who want to vote in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections set later this year.
In an interview over radio station dzRH on Wednesday, Comelec Chair George Garcia said they are targeting nightshift workers, such as call center agents with RAP kiosks to be set up in strategic public places such as the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange and bus terminals.

“While you’re waiting for your ride, you can already register; it’s very quick, it won’t take five minutes,” he said. Other possible areas are the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Philippine General Hospital. —Jerome Aning
