Comelec set to proclaim party list group

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will soon hold a special proclamation ceremony for Bagong Henerasyon (BH) party list group which won a seat in the May 12 elections.
The group’s proclamation was postponed due to a disqualification case filed by lawyer Russel Stanley Geronimo against BH, its incumbent chair BH Rep. Bernadette Herrera, and first and fifth nominees Roberto Gerard Nazal Jr. and Maria Editha Alcantara.

The case, which had something to do with the alleged abuse of state resources, was earlier dismissed by the Comelec First Division for procedural violations.
On May 30, the poll body dismissed Geronimo’s motion for reconsideration, paving the way for the group’s proclamation.
