SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Vice President Sara Duterte stayed silent about her future political plans on Wednesday, particularly for the 2028 elections, stating that revealing them would only increase her fear for her safety.
Duterte made the pronouncement when asked about her plans during a media interview here in Pampanga.

“Well, I can’t answer that because they might kill me,” Duterte candidly said in Filipino.
The vice president pointed out that she is already being pinned down by the current administration, from being targeted by alleged political attacks to being impeached.
“And I think what comes next is… you know? It’s like, ‘Let’s just get this woman killed so that the administration’s problem is over,’ note the administration, not the people’s problem,” she said.
Whether or not Duterte’s response can be interpreted that she does, indeed, have big plans in the next presidential elections, it should be noted that Duterte has been going around several overseas countries in the past weeks.
She has yet to actually reveal her future political plans since winning vice presidency in 2022, and even after her feud with the current administration intensified. /das
