Tropical Storms Dante and Emong have slightly intensified according to Pagasa’s 11 p.m. Wednesday bulletin.

Zambales and four other Luzon areas were placed under the orange rainfall warning on Wednesday due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat”,

The DILG suspended classes and government work in Metro Manila and other areas in Luzon and Visayas for Thursday.

Signal no. 1 is raised in seven Luzon areas as Emong intensifies into a Tropical Storm, while Tropical Storm Dante maintains its strength as it accelerates north northwestward.

Several LGUs have also declared a state of calamity due to habagat, such as Manila City, Quezon City, Marikina City, and Cebu City.

“In these areas, face-to-face classes remain suspended, with some schools experiencing class disruptions for up to four consecutive days.”

The Marikina city government on Wednesday declared a state of calamity amid days of heavy rain caused by the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat.

Tropical Storm Emong gained strength as it moved southwest of the West Philippine Sea; Signal No. 1 in 8 areas in Luzon.

Severe Tropical Storm “Crising” caused an estimated P36.65 million in agricultural losses across Cagayan province, even as it spared some areas, officials said on Wednesday.

Work in local and national government offices in Occidental Mindoro was also suspended on Thursday, according to authorities.

The OCD reported on Wednesday that at least 1.9 million individuals across the country have been affected by Tropical Storm Crising, habagat, and LPA.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 was hoisted over four areas in Luzon due to Tropical Depression Emong, while the Tropical Cyclone Dante has intensified into a tropical storm, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Wednesday.

Nine individuals remain missing amid the downpour brought by the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, the BFP said Wednesday.

Cagayan and 35 other areas in the country are forecast to experience heavy rainfall on Wednesday due to TD Emong and habagat.
