Comelec sets special voter registration on August 1 at Rizal Park

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will conduct a special voter registration on Friday, August 1, at Rizal Park in Manila.
This is part of the Comelec’s Special Register Anywhere Program, designed for Filipinos who want to register but cannot return to their localities during the 10-day voter registration period.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, the Comelec said the special registration at the Mabini Hall in Rizal Park will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The following are the applications that will be accepted, according to the poll body:
- Registration
- Change of Name and Status
- Correction of Entries
- Reactivation of Registration Records
- Transfer from Overseas to Local Only
The Comelec said applicants must bring valid government-issued identification cards as they go to the Rizal Park to accomplish their voter registration.
It added that the application form may be downloaded or printed back-to-back in folio-sized bond paper (8.5” x 13”) through this link.
Meanwhile, the poll body emphasized that there will be no transfer of local registration records in the program.

The Comelec earlier announced that the voters’ registration will be conducted from August 1 to 10 nationwide. /das
