MANILA, Philippines — In observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) will suspend voter registration from 12 p.m. October 30 until November 2.
The poll body announced this on Facebook Tuesday.
“Across the country, we honor the memory of those who have passed away,” Comelec said.

During the registration period, Comelec will accept new registrations, reactivations, and transfers of registration nationwide. Applicants may present any of the following valid IDs:
- PhilSys National ID
- Postal ID card
- Persons With Disabilities ID card
- Student’s ID card or library card
- Senior Citizens’ ID card
- Driver’s license/student permit
- NBI Clearance
- Philippine passport
- SSS, GSIS, PRC, IBP, UMID ID card
- NCIP certification of confirmation

However, residents of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) cannot participate in voter registration.
Garcia explained that this is to prevent confusion among residents who might assume that registering would allow them to vote in Bangsamoro elections. He added that only those registered for the May 2025 midterm elections are eligible to vote in the Bangsamoro Parliamentary elections. /mcm
