MANILA, Philippines — Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon on Monday dismissed the possibility of being paired with Naga City Mayor and former Vice President Leni Robredo for a presidential-vice presidential tandem that will join the 2028 National Elections.

“Hey, don’t bring me into that. I’m just working here. Don’t bring me into that kind of politics,” Dizon told the media in Batangas City during his inspection of the Bridge of Promise.

This talk came up after Dizon was captured in a photo with the former vice president and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during the launch of DPWH’s Oplan Kontra Baha in Naga City last Saturday.

The photo caused netizens to pair up the two as potential candidates in the upcoming polls.

In 2024, during the filing of candidacy for the local elections, Robredo also rejected the possibility of running for president, saying she wanted to focus on Naga City.

Robredo ran against Marcos in the 2022 polls.

After that, she has not yet made any promises to run once again.
