Voting precincts for Antipolo special polls now open
MANILA, Philippines — Registered voters of the second district of Antipolo City can now vote for the congressional post in the special elections as the voting precincts are now open for the regular voting period.
The regular voting period will run from 7 a.m to 3 p.m. Meanwhile, the early voting hours for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women were set from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. while the persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) can vote from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The six candidates vying for the position are: Acop, Bong; Cafirma, Baby; Infante, Dan; Llaga, Red; Lobigas, Atty. Nat; and Tapales, Atty. Paui. The special elections were held following the death of Rep. Romeo Acop in December 2025.
According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the second district of Antipolo City has a total number of 252,793 registered voters. With its eight barangays, there are 348 clustered precincts in 37 voting centers, including the voting post for the 234 PDLs.
Of the eight barangays, Brgy. San Jose logs the most number of registered voters at 74,007; followed by Brgy. Cupang at 42,953; Brgy. San Roque at 36,454; Brgy. Dalig at 33,595; Brgy. San Luis at 34,934; Brgy. Inarawan at 18,410; Brgy. San Juan at 7,057; and Brgy. Calawis at 5,383.

Comelec chairperson George Erwin Garcia earlier said that the poll body is expecting a voter turnout of 65% to 70% for the special elections. He noted that such a figure is reasonable for initiatives like this.
The Comelec also shared that the District Board of Canvassers are expected to convene at 6 p.m. at Ynares Event Center to receive and canvass the election returns and proclaim the winning candidate. /jpv /cb
