COTABATO CITY – Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chairman and United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) president Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim has lauded all the stakeholders for the successful conduct of the first Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE).

Ebrahim, also called “Chairman Kagi Murad,” expressed hopes that the democratic continuation of the struggle “will usher in a stronger and more united Bangsamoro leadership dedicated to protecting the gains of the peace process, advancing the welfare of the people, and building a just, peaceful, and prosperous homeland for generations to come.”

Ebrahim, who was proclaimed Tuesday night as his party’s number one nominee, said the electoral outcome marks another significant milestone in the Bangsamoro struggle.

“It demonstrated the transformation of decades of sacrifice, perseverance, and steadfast pursuit of self-determination into a democratic mandate for the MILF leadership,” Ebrahim said.

“The electoral process represents not an end to the struggle, but a new chapter in advancing the aspirations of the Bangsamoro through peaceful, democratic, and principled political engagement,” he added.

Following the historic parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, the Regional Board of Canvassers (RBOC), headed by lawyer Ray Sumalipao, announced that the UBJP has secured 15 seats in the incoming Bangsamoro Parliament.

The UBJP was also victorious among its sectoral candidates for youth, women, ulama, traditional leaders, and settler communities.
