11 Makabayan senatorial bets file COC

MANILA, Philippines — The Makabayan party’s senatorial candidates formalized their bid and filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) on Friday.
Makabayan is fielding 11 individuals, who are known sectoral leaders, in the 2025 senatorial race:
- Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) Rep. France Castro
- Gabriela Partylist Rep. Arlene Brosas
- Former Gabriela Partylist Rep. Liza Maza, who is also the former chairperson of the National Anti-Poverty Commission
- Kilusang Mayo Uno Secretary General Jerome Adonis
- Bayan Muna Representative and Bagong Alyansang Makabayan Chairperson Teddy Casiño
- Pamalakaya Vice Chairperson Ronnel Arambulo
- Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas Chairperson Danilo Ramos
- Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (Piston) Chairman Mody Floranda
- Urban poor group Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay) Mimi Doringo
- Filipino Nurses United Secretary General Jocelyn Andamo
- Sandugo Movement of Moro and Indigenous Peoples for Self-Determination Co-chairperson Amirah Lidasan

Makabayan also previously unveiled the first nominees of its four party-list groups vying for seats in the House of Representatives.
They are:
- Human rights lawyer and Former representative Neri Colmenares from Bayan Muna
- Former representative Antonio Tinio from ACT
- Former representative Sarah Elago from Gabriela Women
- Lawyer and former UP Student Regent Renee Co from Kabataan
