MANILA, Philippines — Former Sarangani Vice Governor Jinkee Pacquiao is aiming for a seat in the House of Representatives.
She is the second nominee of the Maharlikang Pilipino sa Bagong Lipunan (MPBL) part-list, riding on the coattails of the Maharlika Pilipino Basketball League.
MPBL’s first nominee, Ron Munsayac, filed the certificate of nomination of acceptance (Cona) of the party-list at the Manila Hotel Tent City on Monday.
Munsayac said the MPBL will promote the welfare of athletes and sports development in the country.
“We believe that there are more Filipino youth who could be the next Manny Pacquiao, Hidilyn Diaz, Carlos Yulo, EJ Obiena, and other esports champions,” Munsayac said in his speech after the filing of the party-list’s Cona.
Jinkee did not appear during the Cona filing.
However, she accompanied her husband Manny, who filed his certificate of candidacy for senator on Monday.
