Rodante Marcoleta formalizes Senate bid

MANILA, Philippines — Sagip party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta has formalized his Senate bid, running as an independent.
He filed his certificate of candidacy for senator (COC) before the Commission on Elections at the Manila Hotel Tent City on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Marcoleta ran for senator in 2022, but withdrew his COC and then returned to the House of Representatives as a substitute nominee for the Sagip party-list.

Marcoleta said he is now “fully ready” for the Senate.
“Wala na pong atrasan ito (I will not withdraw my candidacy),” he said in an interview.
